Well, that is not the complete truth…I enjoy the first few bites of a slice of vegetable loaded pizza but 30 minutes later I sense my glucose levels escalating and I feel like I have Mono times two. Pizza is not exactly low-fat nor low carbohydrate, but you can make your za (aka pizza) a bit healthier than the norm. My boyfriend and I managed to do so last week for dinner.
The truth be told – pizza can be healthy and I can sometimes enjoy this traditional Italian pie. And, of course, a nice glass of red wine!
Recipe:
Whole wheat pizza dough (stretched very thin)
Fresh mozzarella
Green peppers
Prosciutto
Basil
Crushed red peppers
Garlic
Diced cherry tomatoes
Fresh spinach
Crushed black pepper
Crushed black pepper
Olive oil
And a touch of amazingness!
Have a healthy and fit day!
We love making homemade pizza so we can make it healthy. We have a great whole wheat crust recipe, it is on our blog if you want it:) We use that and lots of veggies. My hubs sometimes put sausage on his side, but it is still much better than greasy fast food pizza, bleh!!
